EARN-PORTAL
The EARN-PORTAL project envisions the creation of a dynamic international digital platform dedicated to addressing the challenges of youth radicalization. Its primary goal is to equip youth workers with high-quality educational materials, practical tools, and evidence-based resources to effectively engage with young people at risk of radicalization and support their social inclusion. Through the EARN-PORTAL, these resources will be made publicly accessible, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building among professionals, educators, and relevant stakeholders. The platform will also serve as a central hub for disseminating project activities, outcomes, and best practices. In addition, the portal will actively support international awareness campaigns aimed at countering extremism and promoting resilience within communities. By combining digital innovation with field expertise, EARN-PORTAL aims to become a long-term resource in the global effort to prevent radicalization and build inclusive, peaceful societies.

Rehabilitation Guide
Radicalism, in its essence, refers to a desire for deep and fundamental change across social, political, or religious structures. While not inherently violent, radical thought can become dangerous when combined with factors that legitimize or encourage violence—leading, in some cases, to terrorism. In today’s global context, where ideological polarization is increasing, youth remain especially vulnerable to radical influences due to identity crises, social exclusion, or perceived injustice. This guide aims to provide youth workers with a comprehensive understanding of radicalism—its definitions, historical evolution, and distinctions from related concepts such as extremism, fundamentalism, and fanaticism. It also explores key models of radicalization, including Moghaddam’s “Staircase to Terrorism,” and explains how internal group dynamics and external pressures can lead individuals toward violent pathways. By equipping youth workers with the knowledge and tools to detect early warning signs and support vulnerable individuals, this resource contributes to the broader goal of prevention and rehabilitation, emphasizing the role of education, empathy, and social inclusion.

Designed for professionals—including youth workers, educators, psychologists, and policymakers—as well as researchers and concerned citizens, the book bridges theory and practice to equip readers with effective, actionable strategies. By addressing root causes and highlighting successful interventions, this resource aims to build more resilient, inclusive, and peaceful communities.

Report
Radicalization has become one of the most serious security threats faced by modern societies. This process is a complex transformation shaped by the convergence of social, economic, political, and psychological factors and is particularly impactful among young people. Perceptions of injustice, the need for belonging, and the search for identity can make youth more vulnerable to extremist ideologies. In this context, youth workers play a critical role in both early intervention and in strengthening societal resilience. This guide aims to analyze the perceptions and awareness levels of youth workers in Türkiye, Spain, France, and Ukraine regarding radicalization, sharing best practices based on insights gathered directly from the field. It also includes youth workers' perspectives on the factors contributing to youth vulnerability to radicalization and their suggestions for prevention strategies. By enhancing youth awareness on this issue, supporting social cohesion, and fostering resilience against violent extremism, this study offers a valuable resource for practitioners and stakeholders in the field.

Akademic Paper
Youth radicalization has emerged as a pressing global concern, particularly as young individuals are often targeted by extremist ideologies during their formative years. The study titled "Youth Radicalization and Approaches to Prevention: Experiences of Youth Workers" contributes to this field by examining how youth workers in Türkiye perceive and respond to radicalization among young people. Drawing on qualitative data from semi-structured interviews, the research provides valuable insights into the complex interplay of factors such as ideological influence, social media, economic hardship, and the need for belonging that make youth particularly susceptible to radicalization. By centering the lived experiences and practical knowledge of youth workers, the study not only highlights frontline challenges but also proposes contextually grounded prevention strategies. These include promoting critical thinking, fostering inclusive communities, and enhancing institutional collaboration. The findings offer a nuanced understanding of radicalization processes and underscore the importance of localized, multi-sectoral approaches to effectively safeguard youth from extremist influences.
